Citation Pilot Profile
Pilot Renehas been working in Chile as a pilot on Coulson Aviation’s Cessna Citation 552.
Rene has been based in Concepcion and Santiago, supporting the Coulson firefighting force that was contracted for summer.
As part of the aviation program with ARAUCO, the Citation is tasked with aerial intelligence gathering and fire mapping that Rene says has critical support roles in planning and response operations.
A Spanish speaker, Rene says learning and adapting to operational procedures in a different country has been an interesting experience. Rene has thoroughly enjoyed his time in Chile with his fellow Coulson crew members and recalls fondly having the Andes mountains as a backdrop for his work.
Four Coulson Chinooks are traveling from Chile to the US after completing their aerial firefighting contracts. A Blackhawk helicopter and the Citation remain in Chile.
